Your Ultimate Winter Beauty Guide
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Dry winter air means hydration is key, although truly, hydration is the foundation to glowing skin all year round. Through the winter months, you may want to switch to rich moisturizer and don’t skimp on serums. Treat yourself to a hydrating face and hair mask and indulge in hot, calming cup of herbal tea before bed.
Remember to Exfoliate: Yes, exfoliating is essential during the winter months as it helps to remove dead skin cells, allowing your moisturizer to penetrate better and keep your skin looking fresh. Don’t neglect your heels and other spots that tend to get rougher and drier in the winter months.
Choose the Right Oil: Oils can sound scary if you’re not used to using them, but they are truly a game changer. I love rosehip oil (apparently loved by the Princess of Wales, so a natural choice!) and Vitamin C oil can help to brighten dull skin.
Love Your Lips: Keep a hydrating lip balm nearby at all times! A gentle lip exfoliator can help brush off rough skin, although I also love to use just a bit of brown sugar and EVOO as a simple, natural lip scrub.
Help Out Your Hair: Winter can mean dry, brittle and static prone hair. Consider adding a moisturizing shampoo or conditioner to your regular routine along with a weekly hydrating hair mask. Another favorite - the Klorane strengthening serum.
Classic, Neutral Nails: Give your nails sometime to breath after the holidays with simple at-home treatments. Keep nails clean, short and well-kept to allow them to strengthen. Opt for classic neutrals for an always elegant look.
Indulge in Self-Care: Whether it’s a quick 15 minutes a day or a lengthy Self-Care Sunday routine, embrace the slow winter months and indulge in a self-care ritual that leaves you feeling your best. Stock up on magnesium bath salts, your favorite tea and a good book!
