A Spooky Chic Halloween Brunch

With Halloween falling on a Sunday, I couldn’t help but dream up a Spooky Chic Halloween Brunch. Classic design elements like platinum detailed china, traditional candlesticks, ticking stripes and decorative linen napkins create a simple yet elevated scene perfect for a grown-up Halloween celebration.

Vintage postcards set the tone for an elevated celebration.

Treating our loved ones to a thoughtful experience is a wonderful way to foster connection and create lasting memories.

Set amongst the changing colors, the timeless black and white ticking stripe tablecloth creates contrast while the cotton base adds welcomed warmth.

To recreate the scene, shop your home for these items:

  • Vintage Postcards: These adorable vintage-style postcards would make the perfect invitation. They could also be framed and used as decor!

  • Classic China: I love my Kate Spade Library Lane Platinum china dishes because they bring a chic and modern element to the table while being the perfect backdrop for any celebration. I honestly use this set for every holiday!

  • Ticking Stripe Tablecloth: Another versatile piece, the classic ticking stripe adds a traditional feel without overwhelming the table or guests.

  • Candle Holders or Votives: Candlelight adds a beautiful touch to any table. For Halloween, explore classic wax candles in orange, black or white set in a neutral base, like the traditional gold candlesticks seen here.

  • Seasonal Floral: Bring traditional fall colors to the table with a mix of flowers. Stick to muted shades of orange, green and white and mix in natural elements like vines and wheat and interesting grasses to add texture and interest.

  • Linen Napkins: These adorable monogrammed napkins instantly add a decorative element to the table while being practical as well! It’s a great way to keep things interesting yet simple - a straightforward recipe for keeping things chic.

Tips for Setting the Table

When setting the table for guests, it’s important that the table setting reflect the menu. Knives and spoons sit on the right, while forks sit on the left. Napkins should sit to the left of the forks, or on top of the plate.

While Pinterest may be full of intricate tablescapes we can use for inspiration, it’s important that a table being used for a meal is set in a way that is practical and simple to navigate. Unnecessary plates, silverware and items like napkin rings, create confusion and leave guests feeling flustered.

For a simple and enjoyable meal - remember that simple and practical always wins.

I love the way this table came together and I hope it inspires you to create a spooky chic setting of your own. Whether you’ll be celebrating with family or friends, I encourage you to use this opportunity to connect with those closest to you!

Treating our loved ones to a thoughtful experience is a wonderful way to foster connection and create lasting memories!
